Alison Joutsi, LL.B MBA, is a sustainability and ESG professional with significant experience working with senior executives and corporate clients on building sustainability programs to strategically manage various ESG risks and opportunities that integrate with existing corporate goals, generating long-term return on investment.
She holds an LL.B from the University of London, a Masters in Business Administration, a postgraduate certificate in Public Relations, and is a graduate of the Corporate Social Responsibility program at the University of Toronto. Her diverse backgrounds allow her to manage ESG issues and put together sustainability programs from a legal, business and strategic communications perspective, resulting in her ability to provide full-service counsel to clients on a wide variety of ESG services.
She is regularly called upon to present to Boards and speak at various events on the topic of ESG regulation, disclosure, strategy and climate risk. Alison is a frequent guest lecturer and is a current board member of Furniture Bank, a registered charity and social enterprise.
Prior to joining ESG Global Advisors, she was the Vice President of Sustainability and ESG at BDO Canada, where she led multiple sustainability projects and acted as a senior advisor to BDO Canada’s CEO on its internal ESG program. She was part of BDO’s Global ESG reporting group where she developed ESG training material and thought leadership on ESG reporting regulation, with a focus on Europe.
She was a former contributor to Bay Street Bull, a magazine in the Globe & Mail, where she featured women entrepreneurs in her column, Women in Charge. She was also a contributor to the Toronto Guardian.
