Praveeni is a Professor of International Business at Algonquin College where she teaches at the graduate level. She is a professor in both the International Business Management and Strategic Global Business Management programs.
Praveeni has over 15 years of experience in international trade and previously ran a consulting company specializing in international expansions; her area of expertise is the South Asian Market. Praveeni also has a strong background in project management and has spearheaded international development projects in Canada, Sri Lanka and Sierra Leone. In 2019 Praveeni represented Canada at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development where she was the Canadian Project Lead for an initiative across 9 countries.
Currently Praveeni is a Board Member of The Organization for Women in International Trade – Ottawa Chapter and serves as the Chapter Representative for OWIT international. In the past she has served as a board member of Dress for Success and Immigrant Women’s Services Ottawa. She is currently a member of the Rideau Club and where she serves on the Membership Committee.
Praveeni holds an MBA in International Business and is a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) as well as a Project Management Professional (PMP). She is also a Certified International Protocol Consultant.
In her spare time Praveeni enjoys writing; she is a published author (Cocktails & Conversations: a guide to networking) and also runs a lifestyle blog called The Weekend Fashionista. Through her blog Praveeni has successfully partnered with several Canadian and international brands such as Sophie Grace, Fairmont Hotels, Woodbine Entertainment, Marriott International, Porter Airlines and Sunwing Airlines.
